Wang Shigui, senior project manager of Country Garden Tianlushan Garden (Tangxia), is also the Party branch secretary of the community. Wang Shigui received the honorary title of Guangdong May 1st Labor Medal this year.

We have heard of her deeds, supposing that such a vigorous property project leader may not approachable. While at our first sight of Wang Shigui, she was an adroit and thoughtful lady. During our conversation, she laughed from time to time, talking about her work and family, whose frank and sincere character impressed us.

I acted like a soldier at the front line of the epidemic prevention

Country Garden Tianlushan Garden, which is in the charge of Wang Shigui, is the largest residential estate with perfect infrastructure and public services in Dongguan-Shenzhen market, with more than 15,000 residents. The majority of property owners are familiar with her, and intimate ones nickname her ‘village chief’. And she is indeed like a ‘village chief’ who guards and serves every property owner.

The outbreak of COVID-19 epidemic was raging in late January last year. Wang Shigui immediately put herself into the community epidemic prevention and hardly rested throughout the Spring Festival. Every day, she organized and led the property management staff to provide 15,000 people in the community with daily disinfection, purchased supplies and epidemic prevention materials, handled Dongguan E-Report applications, registered temporary entry cards, and monitored the body temperature of people entering and leaving the community.

Recalling the worst period of the epidemic last year, Wang Shigui admitted that everyone was afraid and the situation was so severe that people worried about being infected with the virus unwittingly while walking on the street. Nevertheless, she together with her team never flinched. “I did not think too much at that time. What I intended to do was to assumed liabilities for property owners’ epidemic prevention as a property management worker and be responsible for both the company and all property owners.” Also as a Party member, Wang Shigui said she must not shrink back at critical moments.

Wang Shigui and her team were at the community’s front line of the battle against the epidemic, taking temperature for property owners, recycling household garbage, delivering food and supplies every day. “Walking on the road, I felt as if I were a soldier, with a feeling of bravery in my heart”.

Thanks to the joint efforts of Wang Shigui’s team and residents of the community, the largest residential estate in Tangxia town, Dongguan City achieved ‘zero suspected and zero diagnosed’ anti-epidemic results. Shitanbu Police Affairs Office of Tangxia Public Security Branch sent a banner to praise Wang Shigui “fearless general style, worthy of the best comrade in epidemic prevention”.

While as a matter of fact, with persistent superior property services, Wang Shigui’s team was well recognized by property owners, receiving as many as 200 banners in the past 7 years.

Excellent Community Party Branch Secretary

In addition to doing a good job in property management services, Wang Shigui also made earnest efforts to Party building, improving property service quality guided by Party building.

After joining the Party in Country Garden Services, Wang Shigui along with her fellow Party members founded the Tianlushan Community Service Center for Party Members and Masses on June 30, 2019, and was elected the Party branch secretary of the Tianlushan Community in the following year.

In the Service Center for Party Members and Masses of Tianlushan Community, she set up an activity room for Party members, a Party building cultural corridor, a table tennis room, a Party member service station, the ‘4:30 school’, and a community library with universal borrowing and return with municipal libraries.

Bringing Anti-fraud Classes into the Community

The community Party branch has become a bench-marking position of the Party building model of Dongguan residential estate. Wang Shigui was selected as one of the “exemplary women in all walks of life” of Guangdong Province, and the video, “Being Wholeheartedly Devoted to the Party, and Charging Ahead During Epidemic Prevention”, depicting her deeds in epidemic prevention was released on the application platform of Xuexiqiangguo.

Special September 1st

September 1, 2014, is the day when Wang Shigui joined Country Garden Services. On the same day six years later, Wang Shigui became the Party branch secretary of Country Garden Services Tianlushan community. While this day is her birthday as well.

She told us that September 1st has become her most impressed day. Even though she knew her colleagues will celebrate her birthday, she receives diverse surprises every year.

Wang Shigui is meticulous and strict in work, while in life, she is easy-going and straightforward, who not only gets along well with her team colleagues, but also has established profound friendship with many property owners.

For instance, there is a property owner from Hong Kong in the community, who enjoys traveling and will text Wang Shigui in the first time to tea at home after each trip. Another property owner directly transfers property management fee for a whole year to Wang Shigui every year, saying, “I trust you. I have full confidence in you!”

Wang Shigui spends most of her time on projects at Country Garden Services, whereas she is also a wife and a mother. Every Sunday, Wang Shigui would stew soup, cook a scramble egg with tomatoes, and fry meat with chili. Owing to her son’s food preference, cooking these dishes on Sunday has become her habit for years.

Wang Shigui has been working at Country Garden Services for nearly seven years, and she is always grateful that the company offers her a brilliant platform to realize value and make progress. Wang Shigui won the Guangdong May 1st Labor Medal this year. She said, “Actually, our achievements are a joint effort. It is because of the good brilliant platform of the company that we have such opportunity”.

Q1: What are the reasons for your persistence at the company for so many years?

It has been almost seven years since I joined Country Garden Services, and there have been ups and downs along the way. I have been engaged in property management for 20 years since 2001, but only in Country Garden Services do I really believe that I have the opportunity to achieve self-value and give full play to my abilities.

Working on such a developed platform, I have no worries at all but to keep improving. This is an open and inclusive place where innovation is encouraged. Sometimes I was wondering, if I don’t work here, where else would I go? If I can’t make progress on the best platforms, I’m afraid I can’t do well anywhere else.
